My name is Eli Van Sickel and I make VanCap Images.
I am a hearing-aid wearing, guitar-playing, California-born, Indiana-raised, Ohio-based freelance still photographer, specializing in shooting performances and the people who make them.
I have both a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in theatre and I’ve held nearly every job there is in showbusiness (ask me about my time as Barry The Library Bear mascot). This means that I know how to be safe, respectful, creative, and comfortable in any venue or production environment. I know how to stay out of your way, but I also know where to go in order to capture that fleeting moment that shows the essence of your performance!
Simply put, I know what it takes to put on a great show and I know how to tell great stories.
I would be honored to “Van-capture” yours.
Thank you so much for your interest in my work and have a wonderful day!
